Greetings!

I mentioned this at the meeting to a few people and got some interest,
so here's an official announcement:

Geek Golf is an event for geeks of various stripes to get together and
whack golf balls and drink beer for a few hours. No experience is
required! Our goal is to make this a fun way to get away from the
computer for a bit, and meet interesting people in the process.

Our first event will be on Saturday, April 21st 2007. We'll be playing
17 holes at the McMenamins Edgefield Pub Course, about 20 minutes
outside of the Portland city center (details and a map at the link
below). The course is a par 3 course, which means that the holes are
only 40 to 80 yards long. Great for beginners, and still quite a bit
of fun for those who've played before.

And for everyone else, there's beer.

Sound interesting? I've set up a wiki at http://geekgolf.pbwiki.com/
... if you're interested, RSVP and I'll make all the necessary
arrangements.

You're also welcome to send me an e-mail directly if you have any questions.

Cheers!
